forter paypal shopify integration introduction this guide details the steps needed in order to allow forter to receive information about a paypal transaction made in your store in order to provide a real time fraud decision forter asks for the minimal permissions needed with “read only” access no modifications to the payments are done by forter without this permission, forter's shopify app will return a “not reviewed” decision for all paypal transactions multiple paypal accounts forter's shopify app currently supports one paypal account per shopify store if you're a merchant using shopify markets or multiple payment accounts to accommodate different currencies in the same store, you will need to select only one paypal account please reach out to forter's support team if you have any questions step 1 login to your paypal business account log into your paypal account dashboard and make sure you're using the business account (not developer) pp settings select your account on the upper right hand corner of the screen and then select the "account settings" option from the the dropdown menu step 2 go to the option ‘account access’ in the account settings menu, go to the "account access" tab and then select the "service providers" option service providers this will take you to a "third party users" screen in the third party users section, click on the "add api user" button third party paste the following text inside the blank "third party api username" input bar erez api1 forter com step 4 choosing the kind of permissions at this point, if you see an error message, please contact your account/integration manager if not, a modal should display a list of items with checkboxes, like the following erez permissions check the following two options obtain information about a single transaction search your transactions for items that match specific criteria and display the results click on the "save" button at the bottom of the modal step 5 add your paypal merchant id in the forter portal 1\ navigate back to your paypal business dashboard account settings select the business information option under business profile this page displays a business information field and a paypal merchant id field copy the value in the paypal merchant id field merchant id 2\ now log back into your forter portal and go to the shopify settings page https //portal forter com/app/dashboard/settings/shopify and add your paypal merchant id to the paypal id field of the settings and click the save button shopify settings
