For merchants building their own commerce solution
You manage your own backend, inventory, and order processing:
- Host a product feed at a stable URL (Google Merchant Center XML, Shopify CSV, or JSON format)
- Implement a webhook endpoint to receive completed orders
- Process orders in your backend system

For merchants using SFCC
Forter integrates directly with your SFCC instance via OCAPI:
- Automatically pulls your product catalog
- Creates orders directly in SFCC
- No custom code needed

For merchants using Shopify
Forter integrates directly with your Shopify store via the Admin API:
- Automatically pulls your product catalog
- Creates orders directly in Shopify

What Happens After Integration?
Once integrated, your products become discoverable on AI shopping platforms:
- Catalog Distribution — Your products are automatically formatted and distributed to:
- OpenAI / ChatGPT
- Google Gemini
- Perplexity
- Other AI shopping agents
- AI-Assisted Shopping — Customers discover your products through:
- Natural language queries ("Find me waterproof hiking boots under $150")
- Conversational AI assistants
- Voice-based shopping
- Seamless Checkout — Orders complete through:
- AI platform checkout flows
- Forter fraud protection
- Direct integration with your backend
- Order Fulfillment — Orders appear in your system:
- Your custom webhook endpoint (Custom integration)
- SFCC Business Manager (SFCC integration)
- Shopify Admin dashboard (Shopify integration)
General Requirements
Regardless of integration type, you'll need:
Forter Account — Contact your Forter representative
Store Information — Store name, URL, logo, policies
Tax Configuration — US states where you collect sales tax (for US merchants)
Product Catalog — Active products with prices, images, descriptions
Optional:
Forter Validation API Key — For Forter-side fraud detection
Forter Payment API Key — For Forter-side payment processing
By default, you handle validation and authorization on your side. Forter API keys are only needed if you want Forter to handle fraud detection and payments.
